September 2019 Letter of Welcome from Mrs. Starzynski
Welcome to the 2019-2020! We have had a great start to the school year. It has been a pleasure to meet a lot of our new families as well as see those of you returning to Eagleside. Thank you for attending the Back to School Night and our Meet the Teacher. The staff at Eagleside look forward to establishing a team with you as we move forward this school year.
You will find that communication is a major focus for us. We will send out messages through our automatic dialer, email and text messaging on a regular basis. Please also follow us on Facebook to stay up to date with school events. We welcome the opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns that you have regarding any aspect of our school. Your first point of contact will almost always be your student’s classroom teacher. You may reach them by email or call the main line to leave message.
A lot of what you need to know is outlined in our handbook https://www.ffc8.org/Page/4593 .If at any time you have a question, please don’t hesitate to call the school. Below are some important topics to review:
Arrivals and Dismissals:
Safety is top priority for the staff at Eagleside. Please be sure to stay in your vehicle when using the drop off lane. If you decide to park, please stay on the side of the parking lot. We ask that parents do not come over to the school side, students will be walked over to you. We ask that any parents walking to pick up their students on Lantern, walk to either cross walk and refrain from walking in between buses.
Eagleside has made a slight change to the specials schedule. This year library and technology are a combined elective. As we continue to create 21st Century Learners, it is important for students to be exposed to both the digital aspect of text however not losing the passion for reading. Please be patient as we try to implement this new learning. Students will have multiple opportunities to check out books that are best fit for them.
Our playground on the west side of the building is currently under construction. In the next month or so, you will see new equipment added to the smaller playset. We are excited to offer more opportunities for students during their time outside.
Parent Representatives Needed:
Eagleside needs parent representatives for the District Accreditation Committee. This committee meets approximately once per month to review data and monitor progress towards building and district goals. If you would like to represent Eagleside in this capacity, please contact me, firstname.lastname@example.org. I would love to have you participate and represent Eagleside.
It is an honor to serve you and your student. We have a great group of teachers and staff who look forward to making this a successful year for your student. Thank you for your continued support. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments or concerns.
