January 2020 Letter from Mrs. Starzynski
Happy New Year and welcome back from winter break! We hope that all of you had an enjoyable holiday season. Our staff is excited to return from break and ready to make the second half of the semester as productive as possible for our students.
Right before the holiday break, students in second through fifth took part in Illuminate Assessment in Reading and Math to check growth and students in Kinder through third grade took part in DIBELS Assessment. Teachers will dig deep into the data to plan instruction for the new year. Report cards will be coming home on Friday, January 10th. Our Second Quarter Awards Assembly will occur on Friday, January 17th. What a great opportunity to recognize students and all their hard work for the second quarter. You will soon be hearing from yours student’s teacher if your student has earned an award for this quarter.
Other Upcoming Events include a Math Night on Thursday, January 23rd and Book Fair will begin Tuesday, January 21 – Monday, January 27.
I want to once again thank many of you for participating in the Parent Survey that took place back in October. The feedback you provide us is crucial with moving forward to support our students and their families. If you are interested in volunteering at Eagleside, you can do so through multiple ways. The PTO is always looking for volunteers. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to get more information. You can also contact your student’s classroom teacher for ideas. They will provide you many opportunities that could take part at the school or even ways to support at home.
Again, welcome back and we hope you have a great second semester!
