Social Studies

Social Studies are essential to understanding the complexity of the world. They provide the context and understanding of how humans interact with each other and with the environment over time. They offer the crucial knowledge needed to create a framework for understanding the systems of society. 

FFC8's curriculum builds engaged, literate citizens that are informed through questioning the past and present events.  This curriculum is based on the Colorado Academic Standards and covers subjects ranging from community and world traditions to Colorado history and world geography. 

The Colorado Academic Standards for Social Studies focuses on academic skills. FFC8 will follow all mandated curricula set forth in approved legislation from the Colorado General Assembly and signed by the Governor. This currently includes HB19-1192 Inclusion of American Minorities In Teaching Civil Government.
