Degrees and Certifications:
A Colorado native, I grew up in the scenic foothills between the cities of Littleton and Conifer. Living in such a beautiful setting as a child, I developed an early love for the outdoors and a desire to learn about the world around me. I earned my Bachelor's in Psychology from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and my Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in School Psychology from the University of Colorado at Denver. I worked as a school psychologist at Aragon Elementary from 2009 to 2016. I’m excited to join the Jordahl Bobcats for the 2016-2017 school year!
I cherish the time that I spend helping others or learning and growing together with the people of the Jordahl school community. I believe that children have a desire to make good choices but sometimes need help developing their skill set to do so. It is a tremendous gift for me to work with children to help them gain confidence and self-mastery with the skills to handle a variety of situations.
As the school psychologist at Jordahl I partner with the special education team to work with students who may be in need of support with regard to their social, behavioral, or emotional skills. Depending on student need, I may work with students individually or in small groups on things like: social skills, problem-solving, anger management and conflict resolution.
As the school psychologist I work closely with teachers as part of the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) team to identify any barriers which may be impeding a student’s academic progress.
My wonderful husband and two young sons are very supportive of the time I devote to work. We enjoy spending time outdoors, fishing, playing games, and serving in our church. I enjoy reading, drawing, playing piano and learning random bits of trivia. There’s always more to learn and new memories to create!
