Mrs. Tamera Johnson

I began teaching in 2000, and started at Mountainside in 2010. Most of my experience comes from teaching my favorite group—5th graders! I hold two masters degrees in teaching, and I am National Board Certified.  I have been married to Ray since 1988 and have lived in 9 states and Germany, courtesy of the U.S. Air Force. Together we have a son, Brady. As a family, we enjoy many sports, but hockey and baseball are my favorites. My other passion is George Washington.  I have read extensively about him, and admire his leadership and determination—traits I try to emulate.

I sponsor Student Council. In just a short time Student Council has raised money for a Cougar mascot costume, storage containers for outdoor equipment, and the track on the field. We also spear-headed the beautification project for the front of the building.  In the past, I have been a Math Coach, and Battle of the Books Coach, and Book Club Sponsor.

I look forward to working with you and your children this year as we all grow and move towards our individual goals. Education is a partnership and I embrace the relationships I build with families each year. Please contact me via email:

Together in education,

Mrs. Tamera Johnson
