Degrees and Certifications:
Michelle Canon, Principal
Welcome to the 2018-2019 Patriot school year! It is a true blessing to be a part of the Patriot family, and I am honored to work with each child, parent and amazing staff member.
This is my fifth year partnering with Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8 to continue academic excellence, citizenship, and leadership. My previous educational experience has been with Cheyenne Mountain School District 12. I have a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University and a Master in Leadership from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Prior to my educational experience, I worked in the private sector as a corporate trainer/education consultant.
My husband and I have been married for twenty-three years and we are both originally from Texas. We love Texas A&M football (Whoop!). After we married, we moved to Phoenix, Arizona for eight years, followed by a move back to Texas. The last twelve years have been spent in Colorado Springs, and my family truly loves the beauty this great state has to offer. We have three very amazing children: Cade (junior at School of Mines), Christian (freshman at School of Mines with Army ROTC), and Chloe (junior in high school). As a family, we love to play tennis, run, hike, eat Bluebell ice cream, and have family movie nights.
Patriot Elementary is committed to excellence for each and every student and we strive to always do what is best for students. Our guiding principles command academic excellence, professional excellence, a commitment to an individual's social and emotional wellness, and a community partnership with all major stakeholders - parents and the Fort Carson community.
It is a true honor to be a part of this wonderful school community and I look forward to partnering with our Patriot families. If you ever need anything or have questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Patriot Elementary Mission:
“For every student to become a lifelong learner and a confident, productive member of society by providing an engaging, safe, and supportive academic community.”
