Principal Eric Owen
It is my privilege to return to Mountainside as principal for the sixth year, and starting my thirteenth year as a school administrator. I have enjoyed working with this wonderful group of educators over the years, and am very proud of the additions that we have made to our team. Our goal for our families that we serve is to make this school year the best year in the history of Mountainside Elementary School.
A little about myself: I was raised in the Pikes Peak Region, and returned in 2000 after living in Northwest New Mexico and starting a family of my own. I have two children. My daughter is starting a career as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant at a school district in Florida, and my son just graduated from high school and is attending a small university in Nebraska to study physical therapy and athletic training and is also getting the opportunity to play football. My wife is an educator as well. She currently teaches third grade in a neighboring school district. If I am not at Mountainside, you might see me on the shoulder of the road, on a trail, or on a lake or reservoir. I have found cycling and kayaking to be my favorite hobbies.
I believe Mountainside Elementary School is a special place for children, and I cannot wait for you to discover that as well. Let me be the first to welcome each of you to Mountainside!
