WEATHER AND RECESS
- Always dress your child for the weather (hat, gloves, jacket/coat as weather appropriate).
- Always dress your child in shoes with slip resistant soles so s/he can use the ladder &the “up” slide safely.
Conrad follows the Colorado Office of Early Childhood’s Child Care Weather Watch Guidelines for indoor/outdoor recess.
Temperature and wind speed are used to provide three categories of safety.
- Green zone- It is safe to be outside for the full 30 min. recess
- Yellow zone- Recess may be less than 30 min. or indoors.
- Red zone- Recess occurs indoors. NO outside recess
