Mrs. Horton and Mrs. Diane
Mrs. Horton, Teacher
Hi there! My name is Kassi Horton and I just moved to Colorado from upstate New York with my husband and our 8 year old pup Valentine. Having never been out west, I am looking forward to exploring and learning about the area. I have been teaching since 2016, and have a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction where I specialized in Student Services and hold a Special Education certification. I taught a variety of grades in Georgia and New York, however Pre-K continues to hold a special place in my heart. I love engaging with this age group, seeing their excitement learning new things, and watching the significant growth from the beginning to the end of the school year. I look forward to a new and exciting school year at Conrad!
Mrs. Diane, Paraprofessional
Hi, my name is Diane and I have been a para with D8 since 2019. My love for preschool education started back in 1990 when I helped start a preschool at my church here in Colorado Springs. Through the years I have worked with all age groups from Pre-K to grade 12, but my true passion is for pre-school education. I have always felt that the most important job that I have as a preschool educator is to help my students learn how to be part of a learning community in the classroom. By learning to be independent and to advocate for themselves, I feel my students will be successful in kindergarten and beyond. I have been married to my husband Kevin since 1981 and we have two sons, Eric, and Adam. I love Colorado and enjoy seeing it from the back of my husband’s motorcycle as we travel through this beautiful state.
