Food Safety & Special Dietary Needs
Food Safety:
The kitchen staff takes food safety very seriously. We have regular trainings throughout the school year and all of our managers are ServSafe Certified. We do this to ensure we serve food that is safe for our staff and our students.
To support the training and keep safety in our daily habits, we perform Food Safety and Physical Safety audits in every kitchen every month. In addition to those internal audits, the El Paso County Health Department performs annual audits in the schools in Fountain and the US Army performs multiple audits in the schools on Fort Carson.
Special Dietary Needs:
If your student needs a special meal accommodation, please complete the Medical Statement for Meal Modification Form and return it to the school nurse at your student(s)'s school. Fill out Special Dietary Needs Form or ask for a form from the nurse or kitchen manager at any of FFC8's schools. Please note that a section of the form must be completed by a licensed medical professional.
