2023 NONPARTISAN SCHOOL BOARD DIRECTOR ELECTION
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Board Director for the El Paso County School District #8 Board of Education! Once elected, FFC8 Directors typically serve a four-year term and may serve for two (2) consecutive terms (unless filling the remainder of a vacancy). The 2023 Nonpartisan School Board Director Election will take place on November 7, 2023.
A candidate for the school board must be a resident of the school district and registered voter for at least 12 consecutive months prior to the election. Because school director elections are nonpartisan, candidates may not run as a member of a political party.
IMPORTANT DATES:

August 9 – First day that nomination petitions may be circulated

September 1 – Deadline for Nomination Petitions and accompanying forms to be filed at District 8 by 2:00 PM

September 1 – Deadline for candidate to submit to the county clerk an audio recording of the pronunciation of candidate’s name

September 5 – Deadline to file as a write-in candidate

September 5 – First date a school district may cancel an election

September 6 – Ballot order determined by lot drawing at 9:30 AM

November 7 – Election Day
