Boundary Update June 2021
Based on projected student enrollment and new residential developments in the City of Fountain, the Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8 School Board voted to approve three changes to elementary school boundaries at their meeting on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. These changes will help ensure room for growth and adequate building capacity at all four elementary schools in Fountain, for the next five years. The boundary changes are outlined below:
For the 2022-2023 school year, after completion of Mesa’s construction, the boundary will change for all families from Eagleside’s to Mesa’s attendance area. Students entering 4th and 5th grades in 2022-2023 may choose to remain at Eagleside; however, parents will be responsible for transportation of their students to/from Eagleside.
Residents who live in this area will be notified directly (via email) of the change and their enrollment choices for 2021-2022 and beyond.
All three changes have been made on zoomed in maps and are posted below for your reference. Also for reference, click here to read the FFC8 School Board policy on Walkers and Riders.
- The first change will be to designate the area east of Link Road and north of Kane into Eagleside’s attendance area from Jordahl’s attendance area. While very few residents currently live in this area, the boundary change will accommodate new residents in the upcoming Aspen Ranch development which is projected to begin occupancy in the 2021-2022 school year.
- The second change will affect future elementary students moving into the upcoming Ventana South subdivision east of Old Pueblo Road and north of RMB court. This development will become part of Aragon’s attendance area from Jordahl’s attendance area. Occupancy of homes in Ventana South is projected to align with the 2022-2023 school year. It is important to note that homes in the existing Ventana neighborhood will continue to be part of Jordahl’s attendance area.
- The third change will affect elementary students living east of Fountain Mesa Road, North of Kansas Avenue and West of Jimmy Camp Creek. This area is currently in Eagleside’s attendance area; however, all of these homes are within the walk zone for Mesa Elementary School. With Mesa’s expansion almost complete, all new students moving into this area will be required to attend Mesa for the 2021-2022 school year. In addition, current families attending Eagleside may voluntarily opt in to attend Mesa Elementary effective this fall.
