A Message from our Superintendent

Welcome to the virtual home of Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8, where Today's Mission: Future Ready is at the heart of what we do each day.

Whether just learning about FFC8, or returning for another year, let me welcome you to our district and our website. This site is  filled with helpful information, resources, and celebrations that highlight what makes FFC8 such a special place. With a strong sense of community, a shared mission, and a deep commitment to students and families - especially our military-connected community - FFC8 is proud to serve.

As Colorado's most military-connected school district, with approximately 70% of students from military- or federally-connected families, FFC8 works every day to support transitions, celebrate service, and welcome new students and staff into the district. All FFC8 K-12 schools are designated Purple Star Schools, and the district actively partners with national organizations like the Military Interstate Children’s Compact Commission (MIC3), Military Impacted Schools Association (MISA), and National Association of Federally Impacted Schools (NAFIS) to strengthen support for military families.

This district places a high value on health and safety, in a unique way. We employ a School Resource Officer in every K-12 school in our district. This is a unique level of commitment in the Pikes Peak region, and the state of Colorado. Partnerships with both Fort Carson and the Fountain Police Department make this effort happen and continue to benefit students. To support the physical health and well-being of our students, staff and families every day, the district has a full-time school nurse in every school building. Both of these initiatives ensure that FFC8 schools are safe and healthy places for students and staff to learn and work.

I’d like to take just a moment to champion some outstanding student groups and programs, and link you to places where you can learn more. For example, the Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) at Fountain-Fort Carson High School continues to excel and perform at high levels in competitions locally, regionally, and nationally. Learn more on the JROTC website. The district offers students a wealth of opportunities in Career and Technical Education (CTE), including classes and organizations that focus on business, graphic design, coding, marketing, culinary, and other essential skills. Learn more about the options available to FFC8 students on the CTE website. STEM access and opportunities continue to expand in FFC8. The district will have STEAM labs in all elementary schools this year. In secondary schools, STEM is embedded in the schedule of courses students can choose from, to include Engineering, Biomedical Science, and more.

I hope you find what you need both in your journey with us and as you click through our website. If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out at 719-382-1300.
