School Board Vacancy

NOTICE OF VACANCY OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF EL PASO COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT NUMBER EIGHT, STATE OF COLORADO:

The Board of Education of Fountain-Fort Carson School District #8 (FFC8) seeks applicants to fill a board vacancy. FFC8 is accepting applications from persons interested in serving on the Board of Education as a Board Director from the date of appointment in October 2026 until a successor is elected at the next regular Biennial School Board Election in November 2027.

To be eligible for appointment, a candidate (1) be a registered elector and resident of the District for at least twelve prior consecutive months, as shown on the books of the county clerk and recorder; (2) must be a current resident of the school district; and (3) not have been convicted of, pled guilty or no contest to, or received a deferred judgment and sentence for a sexual offense against a child.

Persons who wish to be considered for appointment must submit a written notice of intent (available at the Administration Office) to be considered for the appointment with the Secretary to the Board of Education. Notices of intent should be filed at the District Administration Office, 10665 Jimmy Camp Road, Fountain, CO by October 1, 2026, no later than 3:30 p.m. Candidates must also submit a notarized Affidavit of School Director Candidate, a resume, and any other materials pertinent to qualifications for the Board’s consideration.
