FFC8 School Leader selected as 2026 Colorado Elementary Distinguished Principal

Congratulations to Dr. Megan Oleson, principal at Mesa Elementary School, for being selected as the 2026 Colorado Elementary Distinguished Principal of the Year.

For more than 15 years, Dr. Oleson has proudly served the Fountain and Fort Carson community as a dedicated educator, including the past nine years as Principal of Mesa Elementary.

As a transformational instructional leader and educator, Oleson was selected for this award from a highly competitive pool of applicants by CAESP’s board. Her leadership has been instrumental in shaping Mesa Elementary into the thriving school it is today, deeply connected to families and the community, grounded in a strong and positive school culture, committed to developing teacher leadership, and focused on systems that support the whole child.
