FFCHS HOSA Celebrates Wins at State, Sets Sights on Internatinal Conference

65 Fountain-Fort Carson High School HOSA students competed at this year's State Leadership Conference in Denver out of 1,632 competitors. FFCHS ended strong with 29 students placing in the Top 10. 

The following is the list of achievements for FFCHS:

  • Caleigh Drown and Angelena Jackson – Top 10 – Mental Health Promotion
  • Xiomara James, Charlotte Watts, Alexia Queen, and Faleen Allen – Top 10 – Biomedical Debate
  • Taylor Howard – Top 10 – Extemporaneous Writing
  • Shiloh Bonus – Top 10 – Extemporaneous Writing
  • Khiana McCarty – Top 10 – Physical Therapy
  • Sienna Fettig and Clover O’Reilly – Top 10 – Health Education
  • Jazlyn Wilkinson and Nyara Oseni-Mitchell – Top 10 – Medical Intervention

These students placed Top 3 in their events and have automatically qualified for the International Leadership Conference in Houston this summer.

  • Meghan Bybee – 3rd Place – Extemporaneous Writing
  • Rhian Triapoe – 2nd Place – Clinical Lab Skills
  • Christopher Fitzgerald, Madalyn Balkom, Ashley Fornes, and Jaihden Swinton – 2nd Place – Anatomage Tournament

For the first time in program history, a team got 1st place in an event:

  • Ivey Garcia, Summer Koski, and Amelia Bostelman – 1st Place – Public Service Announcement
