FFCHS Graduate Awarded Colorado CTE Student Award
Melanie Brousseau, a recent Fountain-Fort Carson High School graduate was awarded the Outstanding Secondary CTE Student Award through the Colorado Association for Career and Technical Education (CACTE).
Brousseau was nominated to be the FFC8 CTE student of the month last year by her teachers. At the end of the year, staff forwarded her nomination with three letters of recommendation to the state level. The CACTE Board selected her as one of the two winning students.
“Since day one, Melanie demonstrated her ability to stand out amongst her peers. It was evident that she was willing to put forth hard work, dedication, and commitment to achieve at high levels. I was lucky enough to have her in class at Fountain Middle School, so seeing her win this award has made me extremely proud to have worked with such an amazing student in our district," said FFCHS Business Teacher Dana Kruse.
Another recent accomplishment for Brousseau was placing 3rd in the Project Management event with Bryce Owen at the DECA International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida in April.
Brousseau is now attending CSU Fort Collins on a full-ride scholarship seeking a degree in economics.
