    6th Grade Choir:

    In this class, students will continue to develop their skills in sight singing, rhythm, posture, breathing techniques and harmony.  Students will learn more challenging pieces and begin working with some basic aspects of music theory.  Students will participate in a total of two (2) concerts and at least one (1) competition throughout the year.

     

    General Music-6th Graders ONLY:

    This is a non-performance based music class (students are not required to sing at a concert), however, there may be a learning module on piano. Students will develop an appreciation for music through the introduction of various aspects including reading and notating music, composing, listening to and evaluating music, and understanding music history and how the art has evolved.  Students will also explore the relationship of music to outside disciplines, history, and culture.

    7th Grade Choir:

    8th Grade Choir:

    In this class, students will begin to fine tune and perfect their skills in sight singing, rhythm, posture, breathing techniques, and harmony.  Students will be learning some very challenging pieces, including singing in other languages.  Students will also work with and apply skills in music theory and sight-reading.  Students will participate in 2 concerts and 1 to 2 competitions throughout the year.
