Student: Empower students to apply their aptitudes and Essential Skills in to well-designed connections between secondary and postsecondary education through a variety of college and career pathways.
Parents: Educate parents to effectively utilize school, community, and college resources that help their child(ren) overcome barriers that may impact a successful transition from high school to postsecondary opportunities.
Staff: Prioritize the integration of Essential Skills development into classroom instruction and incorporate postsecondary pathway exploration and selection as part of the educational experience of all students.
CTE is split into 17 different career clusters that apply to different high-demand careers. First, CTE is focused on developing both professional and technical skills so students are better prepared to enter industry. Second, CTE incorporates learning from core curriculum into real world applications. This allows more hands-on opportunities for students to learn and practice skills. The programs are advised by business and industry to ensure the curriculum is REAL and RELEVANT for future employability. Many students have the opportunity to earn industry recognized certifications through their CTE classes that they can add to their resume and increase their employability. Career and Technical Education Programs of Study
Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8 is committed to providing students for Post-Secondary and Workforce Readiness with industry standard skills. Currently, FFC8 has Career and Technical Education Programs at Fountain-Fort Carson High School, Welte Education Center, Conrad Early Learning Center, and two off-site locations. Fountain-Fort Carson School District 9 offers many opportunities for students to participate in a variety of CTE Programs of Study. In addition, each CTE program provides an opportunity for students to participate in a career and technical student organization (CTSO). This is a fantastic opportunity for students to develop leadership skills and compete, using the skills they learn in their classes, at a state and national level.
