Mr. Lasley

Greetings everybody!

As the art teacher at Patriot Elementary, I invite you to visit our hallways to see the wonderful creations made by our students and to visit our beautiful artroom! This is my 9th year at Patriot and have been teaching art for twenty years. Art is my passion and believe that all students deserve to practice creativity and problem solving in a fun and safe environment. As an artist, I am a printmaker and love creating collographs and hand colored etchings. This year PTO provided a printmaking press to our classroom and I am very excited to print with the wonderful students of Patriot Elementary.

When I am not in the classroom, I am a wilderness explorer and sleep in a hammock.  I grew up on the plains of Kansas, but quickly migrated to the mountains. I spend my free time hiking, climbing, camping, scouting wildlife, taking photo's, leading backpacking trips, and practicing wilderness survivial. I am also a Wilderness First Responder and studying experiential learning in New Hampshire. I believe that all individuals should challenge themselves with new expereinces to better learn about the self. Inside my classroom and out, I encourage others to take risks and step outside of their comfort zones.

Please pay attention to our website as we will continually be posting images of amazing student work! Feel free to contact me at blasley@ffc8.org with any questions, comments and concerns. If you are interested in volunteering in the arts, please drop me a note. We always need assistance in our fast paced art environment!

Just like any art program, we utilize recycling. Attached is a supply list for anyone interested in making donations!

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to work with your children. They are the best.
