Hi! I’m Ms. Ziemer and I am the school counselor here at Aragon! The 2018-2019 school year will mark my third year at Aragon as the school counselor and my sixth year as a professional school counselor. Throughout my experience working as a school counselor I have had the privilege to work with students in grades K-12. I have worked at the elementary, middle and high school levels. Before coming to Aragon I was the school counselor at a K-8 charter school in Parker, CO, but needing to move back to Colorado Springs I found my new home at Aragon and would not trade it for the world! I also have experience working with homeless youth at Urban Peak, a local youth home shelter in Colorado Springs.
I am 32 years old and my significant other and I recently just welcomed our first son, Maverick, on June 6, 2017. I am also lucky enough to have a step son, Ryder, who will become an Aragon Alligator for the 2018-2019 school year as well! In my role as the school counselor I wear many hats. Some of my responsibilities include; classroom guidance lessons for grades K-5, small groups with grades K-5, running the Check in-Check out program, running a number of outreach programs to help provide our families with clothing, food, school supplies, coats and holiday support throughout the year, among other responsibilities.
Every day is a new adventure at Aragon and I cannot imagine being anywhere else! I always welcome open communication between myself and you, the parent/guardian. Please feel free to contact me at the school or email me anytime, I do my best to return calls or emails within 2 school days. I am excited for another new and exciting year as an Aragon Alligator and can’t wait to see what this school year holds for all us!!
