Don Grubbs is a Colorado native and long-time Fountain and School District Eight resident. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1964 to 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1970. He has been a member of the American Legion for 24 years. Don retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2009 after working there more than 43 years, for most of those years he worked as a letter carrier.
Don served on the Fountain-Fort Carson School District Eight Board of Education twice before - from 1989 through 1995 and then from 1996 through 2007.
Don is married to Jill Grubbs who is also a former Board Member. Don has three children - Toby, Greg and Jennifer – who all graduated from Fountain-Fort Carson High School. His oldest grandson graduated from FFCHS in 2013 and is currently a junior at Columbia University in New York City, looking forward to graduate in 2017.
He and his wife attend Rocky Mountain Calvary Chapel. They enjoy watching their granddaughter play basketball who is a junior at Fountain-Fort Carson High School and spending time with their two Scottish terriers. In addition, they have a 1981 Corvette that they enter in local parades and car shows. Don is one of the original Denver Broncos fans.
Don appreciates that he was reelected to serve on the Fountain-Fort Carson School Board and is looking forward to good things for our students and District 8 for the next four years.
