We are excited about the preschool program we have to offer for children at two separate locations within Fountain-Fort Carson School District. Our post (Fort Carson) preschool is housed at Weikel Elementary School with its own wing. Our newest location, Conrad Early Learning Center, in town (Fountain) is its own entity dedicated solely to preschool students. We have many different activities throughout the year for parents and children to participate in with each other.
Our district program is focused on 4-year-old children who may lack overall learning readiness without additional support through Early Intervention services. We have implemented a screening procedure to determine eligibility for these services which includes questionnaires in the areas of health, social and skill development.
We have a Child Find process that assists in the assessment and determination of the special needs of children birth through five years of age residing within Fountain-Fort Carson School District boundaries. For more information on the Child Find process, please visit www.cde.state.co.us/early/childfind.
District 8 Early Intervention classes are held Tuesday through Friday approximately 3 hours a day for morning or afternoon sessions.
